As part of the Khanya College Annual Winter School the Jozi Book Fair offers several platforms for writers, publishers, agents, translators and the press to engage, debate, discuss and plan new projects.
These platforms include a two-day meetings of a Network of Small and Progressive Publishers on the 6th and 7th August to discuss issues of common concern for small and emerging publishers in South African and in the region. A workshop aimed at promoting a broader writing culture, a Writing Skills Workshop will also be held on the 6th and 7th August. The Jozi Book Fair, together with these activities, forms Khanya College’s contribution towards building a publishing movement that recognises the importance of small publishers and new writers in the broader publishing spectrum.
The programme the Jozi Book Fair includes book launches, interviews and conversations with authors and publishers, readings from published works by authors, book signings and much more.
